Josephus III

A community partner of Theatre of Movement, Josephus III is a poet, teacher and lecturer. He founded The Poetry Project, where he works in both the educational and corporate setting focusing on “Education through Correlation”, where he uses poetry as a catalyst for literacy, leadership and service. The Host of 90.1FM’s The Poetry Café his voice is heard weekly over the airwaves as he showcases talented artists from all over the world in the genres of poetry, hip-hop, and R&B to name a few.

Hausson Byrd

Akiba Hausson Byrd Jr: Performer/Poet (Harrisonburg, VA) Is the child of two activists. From a young age, he watched his parents train others how to fight injustice at the community level. They taught him to see the world through a scope of someone who wants to change it. Who understands its imperfections and strives to right the wrongs that have been wrought against people simply because of their skin color, gender, sexual orientation, financial, or social status.

Dr. Cerise Glenn

Dr. Cerise Glenn is director of the African American and African Diaspora Studies program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a community partner for Comanche: Hero Complexities

Jhonathan Hill

Jhonathan: Performer/Poet (New York, NY) is a young poet who currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina. His beautiful schemes and imagery truly immerses the reader into the story and evokes a feeling of happiness, deep discernment, and concern for what is happening in the world today."

Erin Lawrimore

Erin has served as University Archivist at UNCG since 2011. In this role, she is responsible for collecting, preserving, and promoting the history of UNCG from its creation in 1891 through today. She has degrees from Duke University (BA) and the University of Texas at Austion (MS).

Devin Newkirk

Devin Newkirk: Photographer/Videographer is an Advertising and Graphic Design student at Guilford Technical Community College. He has a background in music with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a concentration in trumpet. He currently plays the trumpet in the band at Faith Walk United Methodist Church in Gibsonville, NC. Devin has a passion for photography/videography, utilizing his creative expertise for the Theatre of Movement to document and capture the beauty of dance in stunning photos and emotional footage.
